Hi!

If we haven’t had the chance to meet yet, my name is Hannah-Mae. Founder and Owner of Gift Haven - a little dream of mine that has brought me so much excitement, inspiration, and joy!

I am 25! I’m from Virginia but have lived in Tennessee for about three years now and I couldn’t love it more :) I am a full time nanny to four of the coolest kids you’ll ever meet. We truly have the most fun!

I spend my free time working on all things Gift Haven!! If you know me personally, you know I have always loved gift giving. Gift Haven was an idea that some friends of mine brought up after I put together a gift basket for one of my best friend’s baby showers. I remember finding the cutest floral pink baby bibs, I had included in that gift, at my local car wash! (weird spot I know!) Everyone was shocked and obsessed by this find, encouraging me saying things like “you always find the best stuff!!” One thing led to another and here we are! Now I have the privilege of sharing all my fun finds with you by helping you put together gifts that make your friends feel loved + celebrated!

I love the “hunt” of things which is why you can usually find me at an antique shop, estate sale, flea market, yard sale, etc. I also have a big passion for shopping small. This is something I have always felt drawn to but grew a million times over when moving to Franklin and Nashville a few years ago. There are so many incredible local shops and businesses here that I absolutely adore! The big dream is to one day have a store of my own!!

I found myself in a pretty hard season last year, after going through a break up. My mom & I had a conversation about how she thought I should pick up a hobby, like sewing (she literally said “you should start sewing.”) I kind of brushed it off, because I didn’t even know where to get started with that. The very next week I was randomly given a sewing machine. (I would say that’s a weird coincidence, but I believe in God!)

I picked sewing up fairly quickly and became quite obsessed! I fully taught myself by watching videos online and trial + error (lots of error!) The first thing I learned how to sew was Christmas stockings for Gift Haven. I used old vintage quilts I had found that were tattered and needed repurposing. I thought it could be special, since a stocking is what you put all your sweetest + smallest gifts in. You guys LOVED them! and I fell in LOVE with making! I went on to teach myself how to make quilt jackets. The first two jackets I made were actually gifts I gave to my mom & sister.

I’m sharing all of this to show you how it’s connected because you might be a little confused, wondering why you are shopping quilt jackets through a gifting business. But I am really excited to now share it all with you on here - gifting and sewing!! “Handmade by Hannah-Mae” will be a sweet, new addition to Gift Haven! The Lord used sewing to heal my heart and remind me of His own. It really is true, He is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to His power working within us. (Eph. 3:20)! It’s crazy what happens when we follow & trust His lead! Above everything, Jesus is my reason. I am so thankful to have a God who loves us so much & cares about all the little details of our lives. I can’t wait to keep sharing all He is doing.
